Fallon Fellowship Description

Duration and Commitment: 16 hours per week for 6 months. Available for September start.

Who should apply: Those interested in any aspect of healthcare or public service. This program will expose students to emergency medicine, specialties, healthcare administration, public health, pre-hospital healthcare, emergency management, communications, and training and education.

Join Fallon Ambulance Service to ensure growth and career development within public services or the healthcare industry.

This program will assist you in developing critical thinking ability, global health awareness, network building and will facilitate your required patient contact hours for physician assistant, nursing, or medical school applications.

Phase 1: Company sponsored EMT course. Simulation training and EMS immersion program including continuing education. Culminates with state of Massachusetts practical exam and National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians certification exam. Successful completion of these examinations will enable students to become certified EMTs in the state of Massachusetts.

Phase 2: Company orientation and field training.

Phase 3: Work at least 32 hours per week as an EMT and attend weekly Leadership Series. Leadership Series includes management and leadership in healthcare, healthcare administration, healthcare education, simulation and training seminar, the business of healthcare, business development, healthcare finance, human resources, recruitment and retention, engagement, Community EMS, global health crisis, tactical EMS and emergency management.

Compensation Package:

Phase 1 - Company sponsored EMT program with all materials and continuing education.

Phase 2 & 3 - $14.00/hour. Students must work at least 16 hours per week and attend weekly Leadership Series lecture. Students will receive shadowing opportunities, mentorship from industry leaders, and much more!
